Where healing is rooted, and growth is always in season

Bracken Bloom Counselling & Psychotherapy

Getting to know me

My Name is Heather Patterson (she/her) and I am a Registered Practical Nurse, Psychotherapist. I am the founder of Bracken Bloom Counselling & Psychotherapy. My practice is rooted in warmth, empathy, and empowerment.

My path to this work wasn't only academic. As someone neurodivergent myself (something I came to understand more about myself as an adult) and also lives with a chronic illness, that has taught me a great deal about listening to a body that doesn't always follow the rules. These lived experiences have made me a better clinician, and a more honest one.

When women come to me in the thick of a postpartum shift, a perimenopausal unraveling, or a late-in-life realization that they've always moved through the world a little differently and want to explore. I'm not meeting them from a distance. I truly understand what it means to have your sense of self quietly rearranged, and that need to want space that doesn't rush you toward needing to be okay.

With a primary focus on women’s mental health, I specialize in supporting individuals navigating anxiety, life transitions, neurodivergence, chronic illness, hormonal changes, grief, and reproductive mental health (perinatal & postpartum)

When not in session, I'm planning ways to bring my practice outdoors, spending time with my little family, and incorporating the natural world into my everyday journey as much as possible.
